Projects - Assisted Voluntary Return
IOM Partnership Project
Through the partnership with IOM, the North of England Refugee Service (NERS) provides a service giving information, advice, support and informal counselling to those considering voluntary return to their country of origin. NERS also promotes the VARRP and AVRIM schemes throughout the work of the One Stop Service, Community Integration Projects, Youth Integration Projects, Employment Mentoring Projects and capacity building work across the region and specifically, under the partnership agreement, works to raise awareness and provide training regarding the IOM VARRP and AVRIM programmes among statutory, voluntary, refugee community organisations, members of the regional Refugee Forum (which NERS established and helped to make independent with approx 40 member groups now) and makes referrals to IOM for assistance with return and reintegration for individuals and families who wish to return to their home country via these programmes.
