Youth Integration Project (YIP)
Developing the confidence, leadership skills and talents of young refugees, working in partnership with host community projects. Creating fun developmental and creative projects that assist towards the integration of young refugees aged 11-30 so that a sense of belonging is created to the community of young people, here in the North East.. Assisted Voluntary Return
Through the partnership with IOM, the North of England Refugee Service (NERS) provides a service giving information, advice, support and informal counseling to those considering voluntary return to their country of origin. Click to learn more


Community Integration
The Community Integration Project works to facilitate settlement of asylum seekers and refugees by ensuring equal access to local services and equal opportunities for involvement in the community. Click here to learn more


Drop In Sessions
NERS operates a Drop In facility at St Mary's Parish Centre in Sunderland on each Wednesday from 1-4pm. We offer refreshments, sporting activities and opportunities to access other supporting services and organisations. Click here for more


Volunteering With Us
Volunteering with NERS is an exciting prospect for people from all sections of the community to give their time to helping to make a difference in the lives of asylum seekers and refugees. Click here for more.


Women's Projects
NERS runs a regular women’s group every Monday at ST Mary’s church Fawcett Street Sunderland. The group is open to all women and their children and is completely free. Click for more
